The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center is the only program in the region accredited by the American College of
Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. Just one in four cancer-treating hospitals in the country have earned this prestigious recognition. Through
this accreditation process, the center is recognized as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. This ensures that patients have access to
quality care close to home, along with:
- The provision of comprehensive care, including a range of state-of-the-art equipment and cancer treatment modalities.
- A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinating treatment options, access to in-formation about cancer clinical trials, cancer prevention and support care services.
- Lifelong patient follow-up through a cancer registry that collects data on cancer types and stages to assist in cancer control and surveillance.
